The Spec

How to make a Skinny Margarita with Cordial Craft.

This is the core agave build from the Cordial Craft recipe library: tequila, Cordial Craft Zero-Sugar Lime Cordial, orange bitters, ice, and a clean citrus garnish.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila of choice
  • 1 oz Cordial Craft Zero-Sugar Lime Cordial
  • 3 dashes orange bitters
  • Fresh ice
  • Orange twist, lime wedge, or fresh zest for garnish
Tequila note: Use blanco tequila for a crisp, bright margarita or reposado tequila for a rounder, warmer agave profile.

Method

  1. Add tequila, Cordial Craft Zero-Sugar Lime Cordial, and orange bitters to a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake hard for 10–15 seconds, until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with an orange twist, lime wedge, or fresh zest.
Optional rim: Add a half rim of salt or Tajín when you want a more savory or spicy margarita finish without overpowering the lime and agave.
What Cordial Craft Does

One pour replaces the lime and syrup decision.

A great margarita depends on clean citrus, measured acidity, enough sweetness to carry the drink, and enough body to keep it from tasting thin. Cordial Craft Zero-Sugar Lime Cordial brings those elements together in one controlled pour, helping the drink land with repeatable balance whether it is made at home, at an event, or behind a bar.

Balance Lime flavor, acidity, and sweetness.

Cordial Craft gives the margarita a bright lime profile and measured sweetness without requiring separate lime juice and simple syrup prep.

Consistency The same spec works again and again.

The 2:1 tequila-to-cordial build makes the drink easier to train, easier to repeat, and easier to scale for service.

Speed Fewer bottles, fewer steps.

Instead of balancing citrus and syrup every round, the bartender or home maker can build, shake, strain, and serve.

Bartender Notes

Small choices make the drink feel polished.

The recipe is intentionally simple. These adjustments let you tune the Skinny Margarita for different tequilas, glassware, and guest preferences.

Shake hard

Do not short-shake the drink.

A full 10–15 second shake chills the tequila, adds the right dilution, and gives the cocktail a cleaner finish over fresh ice.

Dial it in

Start at 1 oz for the classic build.

The standard recipe uses 1 oz Cordial Craft. For a softer, lighter profile, start at 0.75 oz and adjust upward.

Garnish

Use citrus aroma to finish.

An orange twist, lime wedge, or fresh zest brings lift to the surface of the drink and reinforces the orange bitters.

Batch Note

Make it for a party or service.

Skinny Margaritas are easy to batch because the build follows the same Cordial Craft pour system. Keep the batch chilled, pour over fresh ice, and garnish each drink to order for the best presentation.

Service tip: Add orange bitters directly to the batch for speed, or dash bitters into each glass when you want more control over aroma and intensity.
One-bottle party batch
  • 1 bottle, 750 mL tequila
  • 1 bottle, 375 mL Cordial Craft Zero-Sugar Lime Cordial
  • 375 mL chilled water, using the empty Cordial Craft bottle as a measure
  • Orange bitters to taste
  • Stir, bottle, chill, and serve over fresh ice
Make the System Work

Build a cleaner margarita program from one bottle.

Cordial Craft Zero-Sugar Lime Cordial helps simplify the margarita without flattening the drink. Use it for a single cocktail, a home bar menu, an event batch, or a hospitality program where speed, consistency, and polished balance matter.
